We want to thank the Troy Police Department for providing ALICE training to our staff at two locations, Triad High School and CA Henning. The safety of our students and staff is one of our highest priorities and having a staff trained to respond to an armed intruder is critical. Appreciate the presenters from the department along with those from Troy Fire Protection who came to help!
This is a reminder that tomorrow, Wednesday, September 20th, will be a School Improvement Day for the Triad district. Elementary students will be released at 11:50 AM, middle school students at 10:30 AM, and high school students at 10:45 AM.
👨💻 Happy School IT Appreciation Day! 👩💻 Today, we honor our incredible IT team for their dedication in keeping our 4000 students and 500 staff members connected and empowered through technology. They are the backbone of our district, always going above and beyond to ensure seamless digital learning and working experiences. Thank you, tech heroes, for your hard work and innovation in enhancing education every day! 🙌💻🌟 #TriadTogether
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Happy Friday! We had another outstanding week of school! The weather has been beautiful and it has been neat to see the kids enjoying their time outside during PE and recess. I wanted to take a moment and bring a few items to your attention as we close out the week...
- Wednesday, September 20th is a half day of school, and dismissal will take place at 11:50. We have a School Improvement Day built into our school schedule that afternoon.
- We are continuing to upload community flyers into a “virtual backpack” rather than making copies for all student folders. Please see the attached link…https://www.tcusd2.org/browse/200749
- Finally, please see the attached “Event Committee Sign Up” link from our Troy PTO. Our PTO is instrumental in supporting Silver Creek Elementary, and we appreciate the parents that continue to volunteer their time to give back to our school. link…https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ZnBT5OJmWTdpK6FWbFZLWncECMfHcL1deYRsuC32CsE/edit?usp=sharing

Dear Parents/Guardians,
Happy Friday! It’s been another great week at Silver Creek! I wanted to close out the week with a reminder of previous district communication regarding our new Triad attendance procedures…
This year all Triad schools (K-12) will utilize the following attendance procedures to improve our communication with families and have a more uniform approach regarding regular school attendance. When a student is absent for 7, 14, and 21 days, for excused or unexcused reasons, parents will receive a letter in their student’s Skyward parent portal or via email. These letters are “auto generated” for every student to inform parents of the number of days their students have been absent and to keep an open line of communication between the school and parents.
Please continue to communicate with us and provide any relevant documentation as to why your student is absent. This allows us to provide the necessary support for you and your child while they are away from school. We understand that some absences are unavoidable (illness, family emergencies, etc.). As always, we encourage open communication to work with families that have extenuating circumstances. We appreciate your understanding and support in promoting regular school attendance to ensure a quality education for your student.
Thank you and I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Dear Parents/Guardians,
Happy Friday! It is hard to believe we are already through the month of August! I wanted to take a moment and bring the following items to your attention as we close out the week…
We are keeping a close eye on the Clay St. construction project as some of our students walk and/or ride bikes to school. Our crossing guards will continue to be stationed on the east Dewey St. sidewalk. There is a section of sidewalk on the west side of Clay and Dewey that leads to Market St. that is accessible at the moment. We will assist students with crossing at this location, but please understand things can change daily as construction progresses. Please remind your child to always look for our crossing guards to safely cross Dewey St. before and after school.
Thank you to everyone that attended our first PTO meeting this week! Our PTO is instrumental in supporting Silver Creek Elementary. Please see the attached website for more information regarding our PTO….https://bit.ly/pto4troyschools
4th and 5h grade parents, your child's Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) scores will be arriving home today. The IAR is a state-mandated assessment designed to measure your child's proficiency in English Language Arts and Mathematics, aligned with the Illinois Learning Standards. This assessment provides valuable insights into your child's academic progress and helps us tailor instruction to better meet their individual needs.
Thank you and I hope everyone has a great holiday weekend!

Dear Silver Creek Families,
Happy Friday! We had an outstanding first week, and we loved welcoming all of our new students and a new kindergarten class to our team at Silver Creek. Our "one word" theme this year is “Teamwork”, and we are bringing awareness to the fact that being kind and thoughtful to others will foster a positive culture within our school. We call this “The Silver Creek Way”. You will see and hear the word "teamwork" a lot this year!
I've attached a “Silver Creek Team Store” link to this exchange if you are interested in ordering "SC" spirit wear. The online store will close at the end of August, and Gateway Impressions will deliver orders to school for distribution after the store closes.

Happy First Day of School! We are so excited to see you this morning! May this year be the best one yet! #TriadTogether
Dear Silver Creek Families,
It is hard to believe that school starts up next week! I would ask that you please review the following information carefully to help us with our arrival and dismissal routines. We will open our doors to welcome students from 8:30-8:50, and dismiss students from school at 3:00. Please review our SILVER CREEK TRAFFIC MAP to reference all of the drop off and pick up points on our campus. Our front parking lot and front circle drive are reserved for staff and school buses only. If you are going to drop off your child in the morning and/or pick up your child in the afternoon, please enter our back driveway (Green Dot on Map) and drop off your child at their designated grade level site. Kindergarten and 1st grade students will be dropped off and picked up at the kindergarten door (Orange Dot on Map). If your kindergartener/1st grader has an older sibling, they should enter at this location as well. This will save the time it takes to wait for a second drop off. 2nd-5th grade students will ALL be dropped off around the corner of the building at the doors across from our bocce ball court (Red Dot on Map). This is a change from last year’s procedure that we feel will help with traffic congestion.
We will follow the same traffic procedures at dismissal. The only exception is that 2nd-5th graders with kindergarten/ 1st grade siblings WILL NOT be released to the K/1 hallway at dismissal. They will be picked up at the 2nd-5th grade pick up site (Red Dot on the MAP). Another important step at dismissal is that all vehicles should have a sign with your child’s “name and teacher” visible in the window. We will have free signs available at our Back to School Night, or you may make your own sign. A staff member will read this sign when you enter our pick up line, and radio to our staff inside the building that your child should be packed up and ready to be picked up.
If you need to pick up or drop off your child during a time school is in session...please park in our front parking lot, enter through our front doors, and check in with our secretaries in the vestibule. Finally, if your child will be attending AM and/or PM Beyond the Bell, please reference the message below as it applies to drop off and pick up procedures..
Beyond the Bell AM: Parents are required to escort children to the BTB site and sign-in children on the daily attendance sheet. Morning student drop-off will be at the side door located across from the large playground (behind the blacktop area in front of the school). For safety & traffic flow we are asking you to please enter the back driveway from Lower Marine Road and follow it around to the side door. You can park alongside the curb. Please ring the doorbell and a BTB Assistant will meet you & your child at the door. There will be a sign-in sheet located inside the door. Please note, AM BTB drop-off should occur before 8:10am due to school parent drop-off traffic. If you are unable to drop-off by 8:10am, please contact Ms. Angie (BTB Site Supervisor) to make arrangements for drop-off at a different door. You may be asked to enter the school drop-off line depending on BTB Assistant staffing.
Beyond the Bell PM: Parents are required to sign-out children on the daily attendance sheet. BTB staff are not allowed to release children from activity groups, the playground, or bring them out to a parents car. A State issued photo identification is required when picking up a child from BTB, authorized pick-up designees must be 16 years or older. Afternoon BTB pick-up will begin at 3:30pm. Pick-up will be from the cafeteria, unless outside. Enter the back driveway from Lower Marine Road and park alongside the curb. Outside pick-up will be noted by students on one or both playgrounds and/or the back driveway gate near the cafeteria being closed. Weather permitting BTB will be outside. Please pull into the front parking lot. The sign-out sheet will be located on the small playground (wrought iron fence). A BTB Assistant will call for your student.
Student safety is our top priority, and we appreciate your assistance with these procedures.
If you have questions, feel free to call our office at 667-5403.

Dear Silver Creek Families,
Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! Please see the “Back to School” information listed below..
We are excited to share that we will be hosting an open building on August 15th from 3:00pm-6:00pm. There will not be any formal presentations this evening. This is meant to be a friendly "welcome back to school" and an opportunity for students and their families to visit classrooms and drop off school supplies. We will have staff present during the open house to answer any questions you may have in preparation for the new school year. In an effort to control traffic this evening, we are asking last names (A-K) to attend from 3:00pm-4:30pm and last names (L-Z) to attend from 4:30pm-6:00pm. If your child is starting kindergarten this year, they are welcome to attend the open building on August 15th.
Please note that while August 16th is the first official day of school for our 1st - 5th graders, this day is considered an orientation day for our kindergarteners. Please see the orientation times below (parents are expected to attend)…
Aug. 16th - 9:30am - 10:30am...Kindergarteners with the last name (A-K)
Aug. 16th 1:00pm-2:00pm...Kindergartners with the last name (L-Z)
August 17th is the first official full day of school for kindergarten students.
You will need to log into your Skyward Family Access Portal and from the home screen, click on the tab labeled “Student Profile” to find your child’s teacher. This information will be viewable after 3:00 on Monday, August 7th.
If you are interested, morning and afternoon latchkey services are available to Silver Creek Elementary students through the Triad School District’s Beyond the Bell program. For more information call 667-5401 Ext. 6219.
Bus transportation information will be displayed in Skyward under the Transportation Tile. If you have any questions about transportation, please contact the Transportation Department at 667-5432.

Dear Triad Community,
I hope that you are all enjoying your summer. As some of you may know, we are replacing our roof top units at the high school. Therefore, the high school campus will be closed from July 10th-14th due to the crane lifts that will be used for this process.
Safety is of the utmost importance when it comes to using a crane, and we want to make sure that everyone is kept safe while the work is being conducted. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but we believe that it is necessary for the safety of everyone.
Thank you all for your understanding and flexibility.
