Triad School District proudly recognizes Sarah Presson as a nominee for the Emerson Teaching Award. Since joining Triad in 2002 as a Physical Education teacher, Sarah has been a constant source of positivity, leadership, and inspiration.
She began her career at the high school, where she designed a fitness class centered on whole-body health. Students learned the importance of aerobic exercise, strength training, flexibility, and nutrition. To support equipment and field trips for the growing program, Sarah launched the annual October “Zombie Run” fundraiser, which quickly became a favorite community tradition.
When invited to bring this same energy to the middle school, Sarah eagerly embraced the challenge, inspiring younger students to develop a lifelong love of fitness and wellness. She is devoted to creating a welcoming environment where every child feels valued—especially during the often-challenging middle school years. With her unique ability to blend community and competition, Sarah teaches teamwork, resilience, and friendship while encouraging healthy habits that extend well beyond the gym.
Her influence reaches far beyond her classroom. Sarah actively promotes wellness among staff, organizes events that build camaraderie, and supports colleagues with genuine kindness in times of need. Whether coaching, teaching extra hours, or stepping into unexpected roles such as Driver’s Education, she consistently goes above and beyond—not for recognition, but out of dedication to others.
Sarah Presson’s passion for education, unwavering positivity, and ability to connect with students exemplify what it means to be an outstanding educator. She is a role model, a leader, and a cornerstone of the Triad community. We are proud to honor her excellence as Triad’s nominee for the Emerson Teaching Award.
